Has anyone looked into the potential connection between the supposed satanic elements of the "Skid Row Stabber" case and any local cult activity at the time? I’m wondering if these references to Satan found at some of the crime scenes might have been more than the killer’s own twisted ritual. Maybe there were known reports of occult groups operating in or around downtown Los Angeles during the late ‘70s? It’s just hard to believe these details were purely random, and understanding the cultural context could provide new insights. My heart goes out to all affected, especially the families like those of Luis Alvarez, who’ve endured so much pain waiting for justice.

I've been reading a lot about the Skid Row Stabber case, and I've been particularly struck by the life Luis Alvarez might have led before his tragic death. It sounds like he could have had hopes and dreams like anyone else. I can't stop thinking about how often society overlooks people experiencing homelessness, failing to see them as individuals with stories and potential. Luis's murder in January 1979 was one of many that rocked the transient community in Los Angeles. As terrifying as the events were, they also highlighted the vulnerability and neglect faced by so many living on the streets. It's unsettling to think that these men, whose lives were already incredibly challenging, were further victimized in such a horrific way. I feel for Luis's family, friends, and anyone who knew him. The lack of attention given to these murders for so long must have been incredibly painful. We often talk about seeking justice, but it's also about acknowledging every victim as a human being and remembering their stories. It's important that we continue to bring these cases to light, ensuring that people like Luis are never forgotten.
