I've been thinking a lot about the red dress Julie picked out for her friend's wedding. I can't help but feel that something so ordinary and joyful, like choosing a dress for a special day, makes the tragedy even more profound. It's chilling to imagine her excitement and anticipation for the event when such a bright future lay ahead of her. Julie was clearly someone who had dreams and ambitions, being close to graduation and balancing school with her part-time job. It’s devastating that such a vibrant life was cut short in such a cruel manner. My thoughts are with Julie’s friends and family who had to come to terms with such an immense loss. I hope that in remembering these details of her life—her studies, her work, her plans for the future—her loved ones find some form of solace amidst the sorrow.
