I've been revisiting the case of Kimi-Kai Pitsor after reading about the tragic end she met at the hands of Gary Ridgway. It’s disturbing to think about how many lives were shattered during that time, and Kimi-Kai was just a teenager with her whole life ahead of her. I can’t imagine the agony her family went through, not knowing what happened to her for eight long months. The fact that Ridgway’s confession came so many years later feels bittersweet. While it confirmed her fate, it also painfully reiterated what her family might have feared all along. The location where she was found, near Mountain View Cemetery, was like a haunting bookmark in Ridgway's cruel pattern. My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone to such a senseless and violent spree. It challenges us to remember these individuals as more than victims—they were sons, daughters, and friends, whose stories deserve to be heard. Anyone else have thoughts on how such cases might be better prevented in the future?
