Does anyone else find it chilling how brazen Reid was, committing these atrocities while living in the Denver area? Thinking about Lanell stopping by her mom’s house so casually, just running an errand like any day, and then the unthinkable happening…it makes my skin crawl. Imagine the fear and confusion she must have felt. It’s hard to understand what makes someone like Reid tick. The fact that he was finally caught thanks to the advancements in DNA testing is a little bit of justice, but it's horrifying to think about how many years he was free before being apprehended. These cases remind us of why it’s so important to prioritize forensic science in investigations. Lanell and Lisa both deserved so much more, and I hope their families have been able to find some peace despite the terrible circumstances. Thoughts are with them.

It's been over three decades since Lanell Williams was tragically taken from her family, and I still find myself haunted by the sheer brutality of it all. I was reading through some old articles, and I couldn't help but freeze at the mention of the extension cord and pantyhose used in her murder. It's just so hard to fathom how someone could have so much evil in them to commit such a horrific act. It absolutely makes my skin crawl to think about what Lanell might have gone through. What truly gets me is how someone can be so close to home, literally dropping off milk for her mom, and then vanish without a trace until it's too late. My heart goes out to her loved ones, who had to endure the anguish of not knowing her fate for days, followed by devastating news. I’m also thinking about those students who stumbled upon her remains. I can't imagine how unsettling and traumatic that discovery must have been. They too are a part of this tragic ripple effect, just normal people having a normal day until everything changed. I just hope that every person connected to Lanell’s life finds some semblance of peace. And that maybe, just maybe, sharing stories and keeping her memory alive can help others find justice for their loved ones too.
