Has anyone looked into Gregory Hugh Oliver's ochlophobia as a potential factor in his disappearance? The fear of large crowds could have seriously affected his ability to get around, especially without a car. Public transportation in areas like Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale can be crowded, which may have contributed to his isolation and desire to leave. If he was attempting to avoid busier areas, it might explain why he stopped contacting people and why there are no solid leads—he could have moved to a quieter or more isolated place. Anyone else think this angle is worth exploring further?

Has anyone looked into Gregory's use of public transport around the time he went missing? Given that he relied on it to get around, I've been wondering if there's a way to track any records or patterns that might hint at where he went. Not sure how detailed the records were back in 1982, but maybe there's something there that was overlooked? His letter from Fort Lauderdale and his intention to travel suggest he might have chosen a route that kept him off the radar. If he had ochlophobia, it's possible he chose times or routes that were less crowded. This aspect of the investigation seems worth a closer look if anyone has resources or expertise in digging up historical public transport patterns or data.

I've been following the case of Gregory Hugh Oliver and something I keep thinking about is the letter his mom received in July 1983. Do you think it's possible that he sent it just to keep everyone from worrying, even if he wasn't planning on traveling at all? The timing is odd, with him quitting his job and planning a move a year earlier. It feels like he wanted everyone to believe he was off on some adventure and maybe that was his way of saying goodbye without saying goodbye. It's tough that he didn't own a car, which would have made tracking his movements easier, but it's so curious that the letter came from Fort Lauderdale. Anyone know if there were any significant searches or investigations in that area back then?
