I've been following the BTK case for years, and the chilling details of Nancy Fox's murder always weigh heavily on my mind. I can't stop thinking about the audacity of Rader, especially how he calmly called the police to report his own crime. It boggles my mind that he could make that call so matter-of-factly, knowing the devastation he'd just caused to Nancy's family and friends. The fact that he seemed to crave recognition is just so twisted. I can't imagine what the responding officers felt, walking into that scene after hearing his voice. It must have been incredibly frustrating for detectives, having that recording but no leads for so many years. The amount of patience and determination it took to finally bring him to justice is commendable. I hope Nancy's family has found some measure of peace, though I know no verdict can truly mend such a profound loss. Would love to hear from others who might have insights on the police work during that time, or even how this case affected the Wichita community back then.
