Has anyone else been struck by the strength and resilience of Rebecca Spencer's family? I can't even begin to imagine the pain they went through, not knowing for two whole years who did this to Rebecca or why. It's one thing to lose someone in such a violent way, but to have no answers or justice for so long must have been soul-crushing. I've read that they became pretty vocal about advocating for changes in the law, and I deeply admire their ability to channel their grief into something that could protect others from experiencing similar tragedies. It's a sad reality that it took such horrific events to bring about these legal changes, but I think it speaks volumes about the love and courage of her family and community. If anyone has more info on how they're doing now or if they continued their advocacy work, I'd love to hear about it.
