Has anyone else noticed the local connections and timing regarding Julia Miller's disappearance and other criminal activities in the area around the late '70s? It's chilling to think that Julia went missing just two weeks before the Girl Scout murders, creating an atmosphere of fear that must have been palpable in Eastern Oklahoma. I can't help but wonder if the fear that swept through those small towns hindered the investigation in some ways. People were probably terrified to leave their homes or let their children out of their sight. It's tragic to think how that might have impacted the urgency or effectiveness of the local response. I also keep thinking about those who lived through that time—Julia’s family, in particular. How horribly frustrating it must have been to know that Karl Lee Myers, a person previously in their lives, was connected to these crimes yet never fully held accountable during that period. Wishing strength to Julia's family and all the families affected by the unsolved cases and the general aura of dread in the community back then. It's important to keep discussing these cases, not only for Julia's sake but for the peace of mind of all those still living with these painful memories.
