Hey everyone,
I've been following the Suitland murders case and something that's been weighing on my mind is the role community safety played during that time. It must have been so terrifying for residents, especially young women, to feel like they couldn't even trust their own surroundings. I can't imagine the fear these women must have felt, and how on edge their families and neighbors were knowing someone was preying on people right in their community.
It frustrates me that despite such a massive investigation and even the formation of a 75-member task force, justice still hasn't been served for Dorothy Ann Miller and the others. Knowing that their families and friends are still searching for answers all these years later is devastating. How did local communities cope with such brutality occurring in their backyards? If anyone has insights into how this case impacted the community or steps taken to try to prevent more tragedies, I'd love to hear.
Sending strength and love to Dorothy's family and all those affected.
