On a cold winter day in Detroit, Michigan, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Seventeen-year-old Deshawn Ponder, an African American male, was killed on December 2, 2012. The incident that claimed his life also resulted in the death of another individual, 22-year-old Deonte Tarver, marking it as a double homicide.
