I’ve been following the discussions about the Golden Years Murders and wanted to talk a bit about the racial dynamics at play in the investigation. It seems clear there were serious issues with how the early cases were handled, especially concerning the Black victims like Eva Jones. It's deeply troubling to think about how racial bias may have influenced the priority and resources given to the investigations initially. Some NAACP members raised concerns that the murders of Black women, like Eva, were not given the same urgency as their white counterparts. This is not just a flaw in the investigation but a reflection of broader societal issues. Eva and the other Black victims deserved the same attention and urgency as all the others. It's a reminder of why we need to stay vigilant about ensuring equality in how justice is pursued. Does anyone know if there were ever any formal reviews into the police handling of these cases? I’d be interested to know if any steps were taken to address these disparities. It’s really important not just for closure in these specific cases but for how future investigations are conducted.
