I’ve been thinking about how terrifying it must have been for Maricela’s family and friends to receive the news of her murder. My heart goes out to them. I live near where it happened, and it’s unsettling to know such violence occurred so close to home, especially at a place like a school where you'd expect to feel safe. I hope the police are leaving no stone unturned in finding the person responsible. It’s so important for them to get answers and justice. Does anyone know if they have any leads or suspects yet? It’s just so hard to process such a senseless act, and it hits even harder when it happens in your own community.

Does anyone else find it unsettling how Maricela was found so close to an elementary school? I can't imagine what the families in that neighborhood must be feeling, especially with kids playing around there. It seems like such an ordinary place for something so horrific to happen. My heart goes out to her family and anyone who knew her—it must have been so shocking and terrifying. I hope the police can get some answers soon. Hearing about yet another homicide just makes me so sad for the city. How are folks supposed to feel safe when things like this are happening in places where we should feel secure? Thinking of you, Maricela.
