I’ve been thinking a lot about the bravery of the community members in East Los Angeles who helped capture Richard Ramirez. It's incredible to think that regular citizens took such swift and courageous action to stop a man who caused so much fear and devastation across the state. It must have been terrifying to confront someone so dangerous, but their actions likely prevented further tragedies. My heart goes out to the families of all the victims, including Mary Louise Cannon's, who suffered immensely due to Ramirez’s reign of terror. While justice was eventually served, the emotional scars for the families remain, and it's so important to continue remembering and honoring their loved ones.
