Has anyone ever looked into the weather conditions on that night Joseph and Christopher went missing? I mean, weather can change quickly in that area, especially near large bodies of water like Lake Huron. If they started swimming to Bird Island and the wind picked up or there was a sudden drop in temperature, it could have made a difficult situation even worse. I've read about currents that can pull you off course there too. Just wondering if we have any meteorological data from that day that could shed some light on what they might have faced out there. It might offer some insight on decisions they made that night.

Has anyone looked into the history of accidents or similar incidents in the area around Bird Island before or after 1983? It's so strange that Joseph Gutierrez was never found, even though there were thorough searches. I wonder if this stretch of Lake Huron has seen other tragedies that could offer some clues about what might have happened. Natural currents or underwater hazards might be more dangerous there than people realize. Any insight from locals or experienced boaters familiar with this part of the lake would be invaluable in understanding this mystery.
