I can't stop thinking about Glorie Brie and how terrifying it must have been for her during those moments leading up to the end. It gives me chills to consider how someone like Morse, who had a long history of violent sexual behavior, was released and able to harm even more people. I wonder how his past offenses were handled and whether there were ever any serious discussions back then about keeping such dangerous individuals behind bars permanently. It seems like multiple failures in the system allowed him to relocate and start anew, leaving more victims in his wake. My thoughts are with Glorie's loved ones, who have had to endure so much pain.
It's hard to fathom the terror that Glorie Brie and the other women experienced due to Hugh Bion Morse's heinous crimes. My thoughts are with their families who had to endure such unimaginable loss. I'm particularly struck by how Morse managed to evade capture for so long, moving between states and leaving a trail of devastation. It raises so many questions about law enforcement coordination back in the late '50s and early '60s. How did communication gaps possibly allow him to continue his rampage across multiple states? The perseverance of the community and law enforcement eventually led to his capture, but it's chilling to think about the journey there. Would love to hear others' thoughts on how cases like these have shaped policy and law enforcement practices since then.
