I’ve been keeping an eye on the tragic circumstances surrounding Charles Powell's death, and it just brings home how crucial community involvement is in these investigations. It’s unsettling that there’s still no suspect or arrest. I can’t help but feel for his family, who must be going through a particularly difficult time dealing with their loss while waiting for answers. Living in Dallas myself, I completely understand the growing concerns about gun violence. Langdon Road isn’t far from my neighborhood, and it’s alarming to think such a violent incident took place in an area most of us consider home. If there’s anything at all any of us can do, it’s to stay vigilant and share any tiny detail we might have with the authorities. If you were around that area on December 29th or heard something — no matter how inconsequential it seems — please, please reach out to the Dallas PD. Sometimes even the smallest piece of information can make a significant difference in solving these complex cases. Let’s hope for some closure for Charles’s loved ones sooner rather than later.
