Has anyone looked into any similar disappearance cases around Leadville or Chaffee County from the early '80s? I find it really odd that Gregory's vehicle turned up at a trailhead while camping wasn't really on the cards (given most of his gear was at home). Given his recent job loss and the fact that he hadn’t been in touch with his family for years, I'm wondering whether there might be other cases where individuals in similar circumstances just vanished. Did he have any known friends in the area who he might have been staying with or could’ve had a falling out with? These little details can sometimes lead to something bigger. It’d be interesting to compare notes if anyone’s seen patterns between this and other historical cases in the area.
