I recently stumbled upon William Riley's case from 1984 and found it quite puzzling, especially considering there's been no concrete information or sightings since he went missing. Something that really intrigues me is the fact that he vanished without taking any belongings or his car. It's like he intended to come back soon or didn't plan on leaving for long, but then something unexpected happened. Given that he was deaf, I wonder if there could have been some sort of communication breakdown or if this somehow played a role in his disappearance. It's so baffling that even decades later, there are no leads. Just wanted to get some thoughts from others on what they think could have happened or if there might be aspects of his life that haven't been fully explored in the investigation.

Does anyone have more insights on William Riley's community ties or friendships? I'm wondering if the lack of information is because he might not have had a close-knit circle to keep tabs on him. In some cases I've read about, the community plays a key role in raising awareness and pushing for answers. It makes me think maybe his situation flew under the radar? If anyone from Evanston or who knew him back then sees this, any little bit of info could be crucial. It's frustrating to see such a long-standing case with so few details.
