Has anyone else been following the role of the Real Time Crime Center and the technology used to identify suspects in these cases? It's pretty impressive how quickly they managed to identify and arrest Jeremiah Quinones after the tragedy involving Lequan Cherry. While nothing can bring Lequan back, it's somewhat reassuring to see the authorities using advanced tools to solve these senseless crimes and get some answers. Technology like license plate readers really seems to make a difference, but I can't help but wonder about the privacy implications. Thoughts? How do we balance effective crime fighting with individual privacy rights? Sending gentle thoughts to Lequan’s family and friends; this process can’t be easy for them.
