I've been following the case of Othon Herrera-Conchi, and I can't stop thinking about his family. It must be incredibly difficult for them to process something so senseless. I grew up near the Historic Mitchell Street neighborhood, and remembering it as a close-knit community makes this even harder to comprehend. Knowing that Othon worked in construction and was described as such a good person by those who knew him really hits home for me. Construction doesn't sound like the type of field where you'd make enemies—so what led someone to target him? I hope the police find some solid leads soon, maybe through surveillance footage or someone coming forward with information. My thoughts go out to his loved ones. It’s scary to see this happening in a community that’s been part of your life. I pray for justice for Othon and peace for his family and friends.
