I’m really struggling with the details coming out about Maliyah Collins' case. It’s such a difficult concept to grasp that a little girl, at 3 years old, could suffer such a fate. While we still don't have all the facts about who might be responsible, I'm curious about how often previous reports of alleged abuse were made and whether there were any red flags that might have been missed. It seems like a recurring issue in so many tragic cases. It’s commendable that law enforcement and child protective services are working together on this, but it makes you wonder what more could be done proactively to protect the most vulnerable among us. If only we could detect these situations before they escalate to the point of no return. I hope anyone with even the slightest piece of information feels the urge to speak up. Maliyah—and all kids in similar situations—deserve justice and protection. How can we as a community do better to prevent such heartbreaks in the future?
