I've been following Simon Julian Cuevas III's case closely, and something has been really bothering me—the ongoing threats his family is receiving online. It’s unimaginable what they're going through, losing Simon in such a tragic manner and then having to deal with added fear and intimidation during a time when they should be able to grieve in peace.
I can't help but wonder about the role social media has played in this situation. The fact that they needed to keep funeral services private for safety just underscores the severity of the issue. Social media can be such a powerful tool for good—like organizing community support and vigils, but it seems to be having a double-edged effect here.
Has anyone else noticed if the online threats have been addressed by law enforcement? I feel like protecting the family from further trauma should be a top priority as they wait for justice for Simon. It’s infuriating to think they have to bear this burden without the full support of the community and authorities. My heart goes out to them, and I hope they find some solace and protection amidst all this chaos.
