I’ve been thinking about how Damon Soriano’s case seems to have just faded without any real closure. It’s tough knowing that the shooting happened in a busy area like the 900 block of 84th Avenue, yet it seems like witnesses, if there were any, have been reluctant or unable to come forward. It must be so incredibly frustrating and painful for his family to be stuck in this limbo, waiting for justice. It makes me wonder about the impact of community trust in law enforcement and whether that could be a hindrance in this and similar cases. What do you all think could be done to encourage people to speak up without fear or hesitation? Justice for Damon surely requires the community coming together to help solve such senseless acts of violence.
