I attended the vigil that tragic night and can't stop thinking about how surreal it all was. It was supposed to be a peaceful moment to honor Alicia, and Anthony Ford being caught in such senseless violence is just beyond words. I didn’t know Anthony personally, but living in Memphis, you get to know faces in the community, and his was one that always seemed to have a smile.
Something I can't shake is how this could happen right under our noses during a moment meant for healing. I spoke to a few folks there, and the general sentiment was disbelief, like how could this really happen here? And then, hearing Anthony's partner, Kimberly, talk about their life together, their plans to marry — it just makes it all the more harsh.
If anyone reading this has any tips, please reach out to CrimeStoppers. We have to come together as a community to make sure justice is served and prevent this from happening again. Keeping Anthony’s family, especially Kimberly, in my thoughts. They deserve answers.
I still can't wrap my head around the senseless tragedy at Alicia Stringfellow's vigil. I’ve been thinking a lot about the 14-year-old who was caught up in the chaos. It's beyond comprehension how young lives are being affected by such violence. I don't know the teenager personally, but being so young and having to witness something so horrifying makes my heart ache.
It's moments like these that remind me how random and unforgiving life can be. I've seen some posts here about the community rallying together to support those affected, including the teenager and Anthony Ford's family. It’s comforting to see that love and support are still alive, even in the darkest times.
Does anyone know if there are community initiatives being put in place to help support those who were there? I feel like getting involved in some way might help process the overwhelming nature of these events. My thoughts go out to everyone grappling with this unthinkable loss.
