I can't express how deeply I feel for the families and friends affected by this tragedy. Reading about Christian and Darrius, it's clear they were young men with bright futures ahead. The thought of young lives cut short is more than I can bear. I came across Janeice Brown’s GoFundMe campaign, and it's a reminder of how important community support is during times like this. Her words about Christian painted a vivid picture of a young man who brought joy to so many. If anyone feels moved to help, even sharing the link can amplify the support. It's times like these that remind us of the power of community coming together, even in small gestures. Let’s keep the focus on supporting these families and urging action to help curb the violence that affects our neighborhoods.

I've been thinking a lot about our community lately and how we've been rallying together after we lost Christian and Darrius. It's been difficult, but seeing people come out in support of their families has been a small beacon of hope in such a dark time. The GoFundMe for Christian's funeral costs has been a touching reminder of the community's compassion and strength. But what really weighs on me is the broader issue of gun violence in our city. This isn't just a police problem or a government issue—it's a community challenge. We need to find more ways to reach out to our youth, offer them guidance, support, and opportunities that steer them away from paths that lead to such tragedies. It's clear we have a lot of work to do to keep our kids safe and ensure they're able to grow beyond their teenage years. One thing I've been thinking about is instituting more community programs, especially around Booker T. Washington High School. We need safe havens and activities that can give our youth a sense of belonging and purpose outside of the streets. If anyone knows of existing initiatives I could support or ideas on how we can make a difference, please share. Let's keep talking, keep pushing, and keep doing everything we can to ensure our community becomes a safer place for everyone.
