I've been digging into the Assem Hijazi case, and my heart truly goes out to his family. As a father, he was so dedicated to his kids, often taking them to places like the Eagles practice facility. It just adds another layer of tragedy to think of his sons losing such a present and loving dad.
Something that I find particularly intriguing is the choice of location. Under that I-95 overpass on Ritner Street, right in a commercial area—it's not what I'd call a secluded spot. Did the suspect choose this location deliberately, or did something unplanned lead them there? It seems risky to commit such a violent act in an area that likely has a fair amount of foot and car traffic, not to mention the possibility of surveillance cameras. It's no wonder they were able to identify Wallenburg from video footage.
Anyone else have thoughts on the location? Perhaps there's more significance to it than meets the eye. Keeping his family in my thoughts as they navigate this difficult time.
I’ve been following this case closely since it happened, and something that's been bothering me is the location. The fact that Assem Hijazi was found under the I-95 overpass on Ritner Street—a spot that's not heavily populated—makes me think this was a calculated move. It’s as if the assailant planned to ensure limited eyewitnesses. Did anyone know whether Assem regularly drove through that area? Maybe someone familiar with his route could shed more light on why he was there that night. Also, the absence of a shell casing is unusual. It suggests a level of premeditation. I can’t imagine the pain his family is going through, losing someone so dedicated to them, especially his kids. It’s truly unsettling. If anyone has theories about the significance of the car’s location, I would love to hear them. Let’s hope justice brings some level of peace for the Hijazi family.
