I just can’t wrap my head around the tragedy that happened to Charles at our Shaker Heights library. It’s so hard to understand how something like this can happen in such a community-focused place. I recently read about how much Charles gave back to his neighborhood; he was clearly wise beyond his years. Balancing two jobs and being committed to supporting younger folks is more than enough evidence of his selflessness and readiness to help others. Can’t help but think about all those who looked up to him, especially the kids he mentored. Imagining the impact of his encouragement and care being abruptly taken away just makes this loss even more unbearable. It goes to show how vital community figures like him are in nurturing and guiding the next generation. Sincere condolences to his family and everyone who knew him. If anyone finds themselves in a position to support youth organizations or mentoring programs, maybe in honor of Charles’s memory, it could be a way to keep his spirit alive. Hoping for justice and answers soon. Please stay safe, everyone, and let’s look out for each other.
