I've been following Eddie Matthew Martin Sr.'s case for a while now, and something that stands out to me is his Alaska driver's license. Why would he still have an Alaska license if it was revoked? It's odd, especially since he was living in Louisiana. It makes me wonder if he was planning on going back to Alaska or perhaps had connections there that we don't know about. With his military background and interest in moving to a veterans' colony, maybe he had plans he hadn't shared with his family. Anyone else find this detail puzzling? Or is it just standard procedure to hold on to a revoked license? Curious to hear what others think could be going on here.

Hi,
It's not usually standard procedure; however, if mental instability is involved that could be cause to keep the license. Depending on his situation at the time that i.d. may have been the only form of proof of identity he had, so he kept it on him. There could be many reasons. If I recall correctly, the military you're not required to update your license to your current state of residence.

Has anyone looked into the connection between Eddie Martin's disappearance and his interest in the veterans' colony in the Pacific Northwest? I came across some discussions about how veterans' colonies back in the '90s were used by some people to start anew or find peace after struggling with their past experiences. Given Eddie's service history and the mental health concerns his family mentioned, it seems like a real possibility he could have sought out a place where he felt understood and supported. Also, considering that he had an Alaska license, maybe he thought he could blend in better or start fresh in similar environments. Has anyone delved into that angle or contacted any nearby colonies from that time period?
