Does anyone else find the claims about the Romanian hit squad to be really bizarre? It almost feels like the business associates were trying to deflect attention or something. George's story seems straightforward until you hit that detail, and then it just makes you wonder what was really going on with his business dealings. I've been reading about the tech scene in the early '90s, and while it was ripe with opportunity, it also had its fair share of scams and shady characters. It makes me question if George got involved with the wrong people or if someone just wanted to sabotage his projects. It's so frustrating that it's been over 30 years and we're still left with more questions than answers. Anyone else have thoughts on whether there was a legitimate reason to be worried, or if that was just a cover story?
Has anyone looked into the Romanian hit squad angle that one of George’s business associates mentioned? I know it sounds outlandish, but sometimes the weirdest leads end up being the most promising. We all know the tech industry can be ruthless, and if George was as talented as it sounds, maybe he inadvertently got tangled up with someone who had much more to hide than just a business dispute. There weren’t many details provided about the business associates or the potential motives that might have led to a hit squad claim, which strikes me as odd—especially since that’s a pretty specific and out-there story to tell. I wonder if there's any documentation or history that would lend credence to this claim, whether it's ties to George’s family background or any problems his associates might have had that he'd inadvertently gotten involved with. Anyone else with thoughts on this?
Did anyone else find the Romanian hit squad theory really strange? I mean, that just seems like such an outlandish explanation given by his associates. If they really believed it, wouldn't there be more evidence or, you know, police protection involved? It makes me wonder if it was just a distraction or a way to deflect suspicion. Also, has anyone looked into the background of these associates? The business disputes seem like they could be a significant piece of the puzzle. It's been so long, but maybe someone remembers something about the time he went missing?
