It's incredibly distressing to hear about the tragedy that took Kayron Hall's life. I can't help but think about the ripple effect this has on his family, friends, and the wider community. It's daunting to read about so many young people impacted by violence in New Orleans, especially on a significant day like New Year’s Day, which should be a time of hope and renewal. With Caine Moore and a 15-year-old already in custody, I'm holding onto the hope that justice will be served. But beyond that, I wish there could be a focus on prevention so that fewer families have to mourn a loved one like this. Kayron's death is a reminder of how systemic these issues are, and it compels us to take action in both small and significant ways. For now, my heart goes out to everyone who knew and cared for Kayron. I hope they find some measure of peace and support in the days ahead.
