I've been following the Leah Klass case and just can't get the image of the officers trying to negotiate with Keith Sieber out of my head. It's gut-wrenching to imagine the scene—a 74-year-old man so far gone that he was beyond help, ultimately choosing to take his own life after such a violent act. I wonder what their history was and what led them to such a tragic point. The incident raises so many questions about mental health, especially among older adults. My thoughts are with Leah's family and friends as they try to make sense of this horrible event. It's a reminder of how fragile life can be and how crucial it is to reach out for help if someone we know seems to be in distress.
