I can't stop thinking about the ripple effects this has had on the community, especially the students at Oakland Mills High School. Kids like Blake McCray should be planning for their next big game, not memorial services. My heart goes out to his friends who have to cope with losing not just one, but two members of their circle in such a short span. I can't even begin to imagine what they are going through right now. It's a stark reminder of how precious life is and why initiatives for conflict resolution and youth support are crucial. As a community, we need to rally around these kids to ensure they have outlets and resources for grieving and healing, and hopefully prevent a tragedy like this in the future.
