Hey everyone, I've been thinking about the sense of loss in the 7th Ward after the deaths of Bill Short and James Newman. It's hard to put into words the pain that their friends and family must be feeling, and it's even tougher when there’s no clear answers. One thing that's been on my mind is the unique bond these two men shared—not only as roommates, but as pillars of their community. From what I gather, they were both really involved in local events and were considered the kind of people you could always count on. It's just tragic that two lives so deeply intertwined with each other and the community were cut short in this senseless act. I heard that Bill had a tradition of hosting neighborhood barbecues that everyone loved. I can't imagine what the next gathering will feel like without him there, or James with his corny jokes that apparently always made Bill roll his eyes. Their absence leaves a void not just in their home, but in a community that seems to already be grappling with so much. I really hope the investigation brings some closure soon. In cases like this, it feels like justice is the least that can happen for the families and friends. Keeping everyone affected in my thoughts. Stay safe, all.

Just found myself thinking about the 7th Ward community today. It's such a unique place full of history and culture, and it's truly difficult to see it scarred by violence. The loss of Bill Short and James Newman is not just a loss for their families and friends, but for the entire neighborhood. It's so upsetting that two well-loved members of the community had to be taken so suddenly and senselessly. I've been following this case closely, hoping for any new leads or insights, but it feels like we're all in limbo right now. The lack of updates is understandably frustrating—people just want answers and some semblance of closure. Sending thoughts to everyone impacted by this tragedy. Let's hope more resources can be directed towards solving this case and addressing the larger issue of gun violence in New Orleans. It's hard, but we have to stay hopeful that justice will eventually prevail, and that our community can heal and grow stronger together.
