Anyone else puzzled by the route Marion may have taken? If he was headed to the VA hospital in Bonham, why did he end up in Durant, OK? I wonder if he got lost or confused due to his medical state, especially with the cardiac issues and mild depression mentioned. It seems out of the way, but could make some sense if he was disoriented. The fact that his car was found in Bennington further adds to the mystery. Did he hitchhike there or just drive in the wrong direction initially? Local folks from the area, are there any common detours or anything that might have redirected someone driving late at night back then?

I was digging into Marion George Perry's case, and something really struck me as odd. Why would he choose to stay overnight at a motel in Durant, Oklahoma, if his intention was to drive to the VA hospital in Bonham? Seems like a detour when you're feeling chest pains, right? I'm wondering if anyone knows of any possible connections he might have had in that area. Could there have been a reason for him to stop there specifically? Maybe someone he knew or an obligation he felt he had to fulfill? Something just doesn’t sit right with the fact that he planned on going to the hospital but headed the opposite way. Any locals have insights on that stretch of the journey, or is there a backstory I'm missing?
