I'm still trying to wrap my head around the tragic events that unfolded in the Westchester neighborhood. Carlos Alberto Gonzalez's death is just so deeply unsettling. I used to live not far from there, and it's always been a quiet area. Even reading the details of the case makes my stomach churn, especially when you consider the motive was something as trivial as a thermostat setting. It’s hard to imagine how a situation could escalate to that point. I'm really feeling for Carlos’s family and friends right now. They must be going through an unimaginable loss. It's crazy to think how quickly lives can change. Schools and neighborhoods in Miami really need to start talking more about conflict resolution—this is not the kind of future we envision for our communities. I'm hoping justice is served and that Carlos’s loved ones find some comfort someday.
