I was reading about the drive-by shooting involving Jamaries Niarre Jones, and what really stands out to me is the impact on those around him. I can't imagine the fear and trauma that the woman who was with him is experiencing right now. It's horrible to think that a simple walk near a church could turn into something so tragic. What I find particularly concerning is how this happened in broad daylight, near a community center where people often feel safe. It really underscores the urgency for some serious action against the growing violence in our neighborhoods. These incidents are happening far too often, and it feels like no place is truly safe anymore. My heart goes out to Jamaries' family and friends. Losing someone this way is unimaginable, and I hope they find some comfort and support from the community during such a painful time. Also, sending healing thoughts to the woman who was injured—I hope she recovers quickly, both physically and emotionally.
