Did anyone else catch the press conference that Mayor Van Johnson gave after the shootings? While I think he did well to address the community's concerns, I'm left worried about the ongoing safety issues in the area. He insisted none of the shootings were random, but it doesn't make me feel much better. It's chilling to think that Benny Wright lost his life where he did, just a few blocks from busy areas. It’s unsettling to residents and those of us who often visit Savannah, knowing that these kinds of crimes can happen. My heart goes out to Benny's family and friends. I’m hoping that with Nathaniel Lewis now in custody, some justice will be served, but it also makes me question how many others are out there with similar backgrounds—they’re essentially ticking time bombs. It's a complex problem with no easy solutions, and I wish there was a way to make sure our communities are truly safe. What are everyone's thoughts on what more can be done to prevent this sort of thing from happening again?
