I've been following the case of Jaden Hill, and my heart goes out to his family and community. One thing that's been on my mind is the role social media might have played in this tragedy. It seems like Jaden was just recording a video like so many teens do these days, and it ended in such a terrible way. I wonder if we'll ever fully understand how platforms like these contribute to situations where kids feel the need to show off dangerous things like guns. It’s incredibly sad that what probably started as a bit of showing off led to such a permanent loss. I can't stop thinking about the pressures our kids face to prove things online and how that intersects with violence. I hope the investigation not only uncovers the origin of the gun but also sparks conversations on how we can educate and protect our kids from feeling they need to participate in activities like this for social media validation. Keeping Jaden's family in my thoughts as they navigate this painful time.
