I can't stop thinking about the timing of when this happened. The Grand Prix is such a massive event in Long Beach, bringing together people from all over for the excitement and thrill of the race. It's terrifying to imagine that in a space meant for fun and entertainment, something like this could take place. Brandon being caught up in an altercation with such a grim outcome is a stark reminder of how quickly situations can escalate. It’s a moment to reflect on the need for better conflict resolution among young people, but also on community safety during major events. It’s so moving to see the memorial for Brandon on Cedar Walk; it’s clear that he meant a lot to those who knew him. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. This should never have happened, especially to someone so young with so much ahead of him. If anyone on this forum has attended the Grand Prix in the past or was there that day, I’d love to hear your thoughts on how incidents like this can be prevented in such crowded and public spaces.
