It’s difficult to process the news about Jah’Mir Johnson’s sudden and tragic departure. I keep thinking about how his love for music brought joy to everyone around him. It’s so unfortunate that his passion and laughter are now memories for his loved ones to hold onto. I’m particularly touched by how his family has rallied to support one another, showing immense strength during such a challenging time. This tragedy isn’t just about one loss; it’s part of a pattern that’s affecting families all across Wilmington. My heart goes out to the young girl and the young woman who were injured. They’re also very much in my thoughts. Communities need to come together and uplift these families and push for solutions to this ongoing violence.
