Does anyone know if Jerry had any history or connections around the Mount Hood area? I was just digging into some old news articles and it struck me as odd that his car was found there. It’s quite a distance from Prineville, and that spot off Highway 26 seems pretty remote unless you had a reason to be there. Maybe he was meeting someone? Or was he familiar with that part of the state? It might be worth looking into any friends or acquaintances he might have had around Maupin or any hobbies that would take him out there. I hope we can bring some clarity to his family. If any locals or anyone with more insight into that region has theories, I’d be interested to hear.

I’ve been trying to piece together possible routes Jerry might have taken after leaving his house. Given the location where his Subaru was discovered, it's puzzling why he ended up near Mount Hood. This area isn’t exactly a common stop unless someone is planning a hike or camping trip. Does anyone know if Jerry was an outdoorsy type or if he had any friends in the area who might have been expecting him? Also, I’m curious if there were any significant events or gatherings happening near Mount Hood around the time he went missing that might have drawn him there. Anyone have local insights or know of any trends with missing persons in this region during the late '90s?

Anyone else find it strange how Jerry's Subaru ends up just sitting out there near Mount Hood with nothing around? If he had a plan, why'd he leave his car in such a random spot on the highway? It's not like there's a ton nearby—just miles of forest and wilderness. I’m wondering if anyone local remembers seeing someone else around that area during those days. Could his car have broken down, or maybe he picked up someone on the way? The timeline is a bit odd too. He wasn't reported until a week later when his brother found the car. It feels like there's a missing piece to the puzzle. If you've driven that stretch of Highway 26 back then, could you shed some light?
