Hey everyone, just wanted to share something I came across while reading about Todd Edward Lucchesi's case. Did you know a lot of people have gone missing by the Yuba River over the years? It makes me wonder if there’s a connection or just sheer coincidence. It’s puzzling that Todd's scent was found so close to the river but then disappeared. I’m curious if others have disappeared in similar ways near that area. Maybe the terrain is more treacherous than people realize, or perhaps there’s another explanation entirely. Anyone who’s familiar with the Downieville area or has theories on why this keeps happening, I’d love to hear your insights.
Has anyone else been to the area around the north fork of the Yuba River? I did some hiking there last summer and it's stunning but rugged—lots of slippery rocks and swift currents. Reading about Todd Lucchesi's case makes me wonder how easy it would be to accidentally slip into the river around there. I remember feeling uneasy walking so close to the edge myself. I’m curious if anyone more familiar with the terrain has insight into how hazardous it really is. It seems strange that the scent trail would stop so close to the water without any sign of what happened next. Could anything else have reasonably led the dogs right to the edge of the river like that?
Hey everyone,
I've been digging into Todd Lucchesi's case, and something caught my attention. Did anyone else find it strange that his scent trail ended so close to the edge of the Yuba River, but there was no evidence he fell in? You’d think there would at least be some kind of sign right at the water’s edge, like disturbed dirt or broken branches. It makes me wonder if something or someone interrupted his path before he got there.
Has there been any talk about whether the weather or water conditions at the time might have washed away any clues? Or maybe the dogs caught someone else's scent near the river? Just throwing ideas out there because it seems odd for it to just stop like that. Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts or info from locals who know the area better.
Stay safe out there.
