Saw this thread and felt compelled to share some thoughts about Corey Banks and the tragic night he lost his life. It's disturbing how violence seems to weave itself into the fabric of certain communities, catching innocent lives in its web. Corey's murder is a grim reminder of how the shadow of gang conflict can cast far beyond the intended targets. Reading how police are still seeking leads is gut-wrenching. It’s hard to believe that, more than a decade later, his family still doesn't have the justice or closure they deserve. What really moves me is thinking about the ripple effect of this loss—not only for Corey’s immediate family and friends but for the other victims and the community caught in the crossfire that night. Does anyone else here live in Long Beach or nearby? How does a community heal from something like this? Does that corner feel any different now than it did before? To all the families affected, I can’t imagine the depth of your pain. My hope is that someone, somewhere, will come forward with information that could bring some sense of resolution to this heartbreaking piece of your lives. Corey's story deserves an ending that honors who he was and acknowledges the impact he had on those around him. Sending strength and peace to everyone touched by this tragedy.
