Has anyone else been thinking about how this incident could have escalated so quickly? Coming from a small town myself, I know that approaching someone’s home, especially at night, can be seen as a threat by some homeowners. But in today’s world, shouldn’t we err on the side of helping each other out, especially in such a remote area with limited cell service? James Cauthen seemed like the type of person who would always lend a helping hand, even to strangers. It’s tragic that his attempt to assist someone in need turned into such a nightmare. Has anyone heard if there was any history of paranoia or aggression with this homeowner, Franklin? Just trying to wrap my head around this whole situation. My heart goes out to Cauthen's family and colleagues—it’s tough losing such a dedicated and kind soul in the line of duty, even off the clock.
