James Bartholomew Cauthen, a 54-year-old battalion fire chief from Coweta County, Georgia, was tragically killed on January 19, 2025, in Chambers County, Alabama. The incident occurred when Cauthen stopped to assist a stranded driver who had hit a deer on County Road 267.
