Hey everyone, I was reading about the William L. Meehan case again, and something really caught my attention this time around. I noticed that he was wearing white Avia sneakers when he was last seen. It's kind of an unusual detail to mention, right? I mean, it makes me wonder why that was specifically noted—were these sneakers significant in any way? Did he have a peculiarly recognizable pair that someone might remember seeing later on? If anyone else does deep dives into cases like this, have you seen any other instances where specific items of clothing turned out to be important? Just curious if there's something here that could have slipped under the radar...
Does anyone else find it strange that William L. Meehan's car was found involved in a hit-and-run on Route 22, but no witnesses came forward to describe who was driving it? With it being a relatively busy area, especially around rush hour, you'd think someone might have seen something significant and reported it. I wonder if the investigators checked nearby businesses for CCTV footage from that day. Even though it was back in 2000, some places might have had outdoor cameras. It seems like that stretch of road would have been covered in some capacity. Just thinking out loud, but maybe reaching out to local residents who lived there at the time could provide new insights now that technology has advanced and people might be more willing to talk anonymously. Thoughts?
Has anyone else been scratching their heads over the hit-and-run aspect of William Meehan's case? I mean, how did his car end up involved in that accident on Route 22 if he was last seen heading north on Highway 35 from MacLearie Park? It just seems odd that there's this big gap in the timeline. Was someone else driving his car? Why flee the scene? This detail has stuck with me because it could indicate whether he came to harm before or after the accident, or if there’s a completely different factor we haven’t thought about. If anyone around Green Brook remembers seeing anything unusual that day, even if it seems small, it could be crucial. Maybe something that seemed irrelevant at the time might spark a memory?
