Wow, it's hard not to feel the weight of this tragedy. I came across an old video clip of Zaveon playing the drums at his church—Damascus Missionary Baptist—and his talent was just so undeniable. You could tell how dedicated he was, playing with such passion and joy. It’s always gut-wrenching to hear about a young life cut short, especially someone with so much promise and positivity to offer the world. Aside from his role in church, Zaveon's involvement in sports at Percy Julian High must have been such a significant part of his life. It makes you think about all the people he inspired and impacted, from teammates to younger students looking up to him. His energy seemed to light up any room he was in. Sending love and strength to his family and his community during such a trying time. Remembering Zaveon for the light he was in the lives of so many.

I've been thinking a lot about the impact Zaveon had on those around him, especially at his school. As a fellow junior at Percy Julian High, I didn't know him well personally, but his presence was hard to miss. The guy had such an electric energy, whether he was on the field, court, or track. It seemed like everyone looked up to him for his talent and humility. I recently learned he was deeply involved in his church too, playing the drums and connecting with the community there. It's comforting to know he had a strong support system in place. I feel for his family and friends, who must be going through unimaginable pain right now. Our school hallways and classrooms don’t feel the same without him around. I hope by sharing memories and stories, we can keep his spirit alive and hopefully bring some comfort to those who knew him best. If anyone needs someone to talk to, remember there’s support all around us. Let’s continue to honor his memory and spread kindness, something I think Zaveon truly embodied.
