I recently revisited Matthew Pettersen's case, and something about it bothers me. Two people allegedly confessed to his murder and said his body was in a landfill, yet after all these years, his remains still haven’t been found. You'd think with modern technology and resources, there’d be a way to locate him, or at least something by now. Does anyone else wonder if this landfill lead was a complete misdirection? Could there be more to the story? I feel like there's something missing here. What could the reason be that even with confessions on the table, the case remains so tangled? Could authorities have overlooked other potential evidence or leads? This must be so painful for Matthew's family. I genuinely hope someone out there can come forward with new information to help give them answers.

Hey all, I was reading up on the case of Matthew Pettersen, missing from Delray Beach, and something struck me about the claims that his body was disposed of in a landfill. I'm curious, does anyone know how often law enforcement conducts searches in those kinds of locations? I’ve read a few articles where it's mentioned that challenges in landfill searches can be enormous due to the vast area and constant new deposits of waste. Given the confession from the suspects, it's bizarre that more hasn't been found, don’t you think? Do they usually use cadaver dogs or specialized equipment in these situations? The logistics must be a nightmare. If anyone has insights or knows of similar cases where landfill searches were successful, I'd be really interested to hear about it. It seems like an avenue that's so difficult but could potentially hold so many answers. Thanks!

Has anyone else read about the discrepancy in the timeline regarding when Matthew Pettersen was last seen? I came across a podcast discussing his case, and they mentioned that there are conflicting reports about who actually saw him on September 24, 2000. Some sources say it was a friend, while others mention a local store owner. Could this mix-up be affecting the investigation? If the timing or location where he was last seen is off, maybe it delays finding more witnesses or evidence that could lead to a breakthrough. Anyone have more details on this aspect? I know every bit of info can help, especially with such a difficult search ongoing for his remains.
