Hey everyone, I was researching Fred Moore’s murder back in 1944 and came across something that really stuck with me. When we read about cases from so long ago, it’s easy to feel detached, but there was a small article mentioning how Fred was actually well-known in his community. He apparently ran a local store where he would always take the time to chat with customers and help out whoever needed it. It's hard to fathom that such a kind-hearted person's life was cut short in such a vicious way. I find it so tragic when the stories of victims seem to get overshadowed by the notoriety of the killer. It must have been so devastating for Fred’s family and friends, not just from the loss, but also having to deal with the chaos and fear that Luther McClam brought with his crime spree. I can’t even begin to imagine how his community picked up the pieces afterward. Would love to hear if anyone else has read more about Fred’s life or the impact his loss had on those around him. ? Stay kind and vigilant, everyone.
