Has anyone else been deeply touched by the victims’ families speaking out during the trial? It’s so moving to see how these families have come together to share memories of their loved ones while seeking justice. Raymond Golden’s story, along with the others, is just so touching, and hearing the impact these tragic events have had on their families is overwhelming. They’ve shown incredible strength and resilience in the face of unimaginable loss. It's comforting that the community has rallied around them, but it’s also a stark reminder of the lapses that allowed such a tragedy to unfold. Does anyone have more details on the changes made at the VA hospital afterward? I hope that their advocacy will lead to real change and prevent anything like this from happening again.

Has anyone else been reflecting on the systemic failures that allowed Reta Mays' actions to persist for so long? I can't stop thinking about how an institution designed to care for our veterans fell so dramatically short. Raymond Golden and the other victims put their trust in this facility, and yet, due to lapses in oversight and supervision, their safety was compromised in the worst possible way. It haunts me to think that basic checks and balances weren't in place to prevent such a gross abuse of power. The sheer thought of someone's life being at risk because of organizational negligence is terrifying. I really hope there are ongoing discussions about how to implement stricter protocols and safeguards to ensure that something like this never happens again. These veterans deserved so much better than this. Sending strength and love to their families as they grapple with this incomprehensible loss.
